Chantal Boso-Flores
Chantal Boso-Flores (b.1998) is a Filipino-Austrian fine Artist based in Florence and the Western part of Austria, close to the border of Switzerland.
She has always had a great interest in art from an early age – especially in portrait painting and drawing. As a teenager she began taking classes at the Art School of Liechtenstein and private drawing classes at The Circle of Art with her tutor Habib Samadzadeh
After graduating from high school, she moved to Florence to pursue her dreams of becoming an artist and enrolled in the three-year core-programme at Angel Academy which she graduated from with “Summa cum Laude” in 2020.
Afterwards, she wanted focus a little more on portrait painting which led her to the Charles Cecil Studios where she spent about a year. During this time, she got a job offer to work for the Oscar nominated Polish based production company “Breakthru Productions” (known for “Loving Vincent”) to work as a “painter animator” contributing around 500 frames to their latest movie called “The Peasants”.
In May 2022 she moved back to her hometown in Austria and started taking up portrait commissions out of her studio.
Chantal’s work has been exhibited in Austria, the US and UK and she has been awarded with the ARC Scholarship (2nd prize 2021) and the Future Generation Competition of the Portrait Society of America (Finalist 2023). One of her paintings is also included in the “Lunar Codex”, a project which will bring artwork of 30.000 artists the moon (NASA mission Polaris Collection). The image will be laser-etched on a nickel microfiche to be enclosed in a time capsule on a lunar lander, to be placed on the moon in perpetuity.
Besides painting, Chantal enjoys playing the piano, reading and meditating.
