Margherita Gallucci
For me, artistic discipline is a means of expression. Even in the early stages of my childhood I was very creative and had a passion for drawing.
I was born in Civitanova Marche, Italy. There, my fascination for art developed. I continually looked at the artwork of Master Artists and admired their ability to represent nature with an incredible amount of realism, yet still be able to convey into each work their own personality. After graduating from the O. Licini Art high school in Porto San Giorgio, I then moved to Florence to continue my artistic training. I attended the Sacred Art School where I obtained my certification for Designer in Sacred Craftsmanship. I also attended a two-year specialisation in figurative painting.
Taking advantage of the profound artistic wealth within the city of Florence, I continued to study the works of the Old Masters, and furthering my personal and artistic growth. One of the ways I achieve this is by incorporating many of the traditional practices for drawing and painting from life into a contemporary setting, and also attending courses in other ateliers. I still live in Florence and I continue to keep learning. I paint, teach, and I'm a mom. Motherhood, in addition to being a wealth of inspiration in its own right, makes me realise how precious time to work and practice becomes. Sometimes, when I have the time to paint, I have the impression that I am actually taking a break, which makes me feel like I am on a wonderful painting adventure.
I have received numerous painting commissions for churches and private clients. My works are currently exhibited in various national and international locations including the Opera Medicea Laurenziana, Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence (FI), The Episcopal Chapel in the Palazzo Vescovile of Massa Marittima (GR), El Monasterio De La Visitación De Santa María in Ciudad de México, México, The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Tai Po, Hong Kong, The Governorate Palace in Vatican City. In 2016, My work was included in a temporary exhibition "In una Carne il senso del Corpo" presented by the Sacred Art School in the Grande Museo del Duomo in Florence. I have also worked as illustrator in Milan and for Edizioni Frate Indovino in Perugia, creating works in acrylic painting, ink and digital painting.
